I see that lots of people are upgrading to the new Windows 7. How is everyone liking it?

We have not upgraded yet and are not sure how soon we will. I heard (at least at launch) that people were having problems running Aion after installing Windows 7 but I'm not sure it's true.

We WILL upgrade, as this memory leak problem with Vista 64 is more than annoying. It's not just Aion, but the problem with the >2g ram issue is not going to be fixed soon.
That being said, I hear too many good things about 7... enough so that we will be getting it sometime just after Christmas I imagine.

Cheryl and I have had Win 7 nstalled since last Monday and it's rock solid so far. The only issues I've heard much of (concerning Aion) is the raid instancing seems to cause quite a few people to crash.

From what I've read it's more of an issue with Game Guard, which NCSoft shut off but did not remove from the game files when Aion went live. It's embedded into several core files for the game. Apparently GG 'protects' the system from having more than 2 Gigs of system RAM accessed, why I couldn't tell you. Once the game hits the 2 Gig mark, it crashes.

We're going to watch this closely, and hopefully the issue will be fixed by NCSoft soon. If not and this DOES become an issue, it can be a game killer for anyone who loves to raid.

it turned off his LED part of the laptop that controls the battery power and fan cooling system
so yeah, he had maybe one fan working on his computer while playing aion

Installing windows 7 isnt the answer to the aion memory leak, it has to do with the game itself, it apparently has problems with ATI graphics cards but not nvidea. This is what ive read on it anyways, and im inclined to believe it as i am currently running windows 7 and i have an ati graphics card and im still having issues with the memory leak
